Chevalier T. Thomas, our Founder-Correspondent, a veteran of education believed that the future of our country is not only in the hands of soldiers but also in the hands of scholars and schools. Chev. T. Thomas was a man who proved in his life, that hardwork and blessings of God shall bear good fruits. He took the risk to cross the waters of the Arabian Sea and the English Channel to reach London and obtained a modern education. He brought back to India this education, especially to the most underdeveloped part of Chennai-Perumbur, before contemporaries could even dream about starting Education institutions in the area. He started several other institutions like St.Mary’s Boys Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Perumbur. St. Mary’s Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School- Sembium, St. Mary’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Redhills and Marian Junior College at Kottoyam in Kerala.

Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas, the Co-Founder had shared the same vision of her beloved husband and carried on his mission with great zeal and enthusiasm in order to fulfil the cherished dream of her husband. She started a college for women after his name in Perambur, as a mark of respect for his noble service. Her strong will power and amazing determination enabled St. Mary’s group of schools and C.T.T.E College for Women to reach the zenith of glory
